Meet the Wellington Branch

Whether it’s wind, rain, or more wind, our Wellington branch can take on just about anything. 

This team finds themselves working mainly on large electrical commercial sites, hazardous areas, and preventative maintenance projects. However, the group’s favourite is typically getting to work on projects in food outlets as the staff are always brilliant to work with (and occasionally they’ll sneak our guys some treats). 

Currently, the Wellington team has been busy performing upgrades for our clients, including installing new lighting and gas detection.  When the team gets together outside of work, everyone gets involved. They’re always floating ideas around of activities they can do together to blow off some steam after a hard day’s work.

Petone is a neighbourhood known for its seaside and cafes, but it is also home to our local Clarksons Wellington Branch. 

The established team have been busy with all ‘the usual’ kinds of work across electrical, property, and fuels. This month has seen the team work on everything from fuel sites and oil terminals to a retail convenience store and local school. 

The branch’s social club regularly organises activities and celebrations outside of work to allow opportunities to celebrate and bond as a team. Some previous outings include go-karting, skeet shooting, abseiling, and team dinners. 

With plenty of project work coming up, the team is focusing on keeping up-to-date with clients’ service schedules before returning the focus to growing both the Wellington branch and its satellite office in Palmerston North. 

Branch manager Phil Dobbin says he will be offering two apprenticeships to school leavers shortly to help decrease local youth unemployment. With a national shortage of electricians, he says it all starts from scratch with apprenticeships; it is vital to find, encourage, and support the next generation into the trade.
